When should I start Botox?

Recently, we had a client ask about when to begin a botox regimen. We decided to address this question for our blog readers to gain some feedback!
Q: I heard that many of Hollywood’s elite start Botox in their 20s to prevent wrinkles. Does this really work?
There are few things in life that are certain, and wrinkles are one of them.
If you smile, frown, or make any expression with your face (even squinting at the sun), you will develop laugh lines, brow lines, lines across your forehead, lines around your eyes, etc. Wrinkles are one of the facts of life, and although there are ways to minimize them, eventually…we will all get them.
It is true, though, that if you begin using Botox and fillers in your 20s, creases and wrinkles will be slower to develop. This does not mean that you never have wrinkles; it just means they will take a little longer to show.

Botox in your 20’s is considered preventative, not corrective.
There is no right or wrong answer to the question of when to begin a botox regimen. Before deciding on Botox, make sure you know the facts. Schedule a consultation with your local med spa, nurse injector or plastic surgeon to discuss best practices for you.
